s3: take bucket sizes from the master's summary (#10664)
* pb: ask the master what each collection holds Callers tracking usage were sent every volume in the cluster to add up themselves, which is the master's largest single allocation. * topology: summarise what each collection holds One pass over the topology, allocating per collection rather than per volume. Regular volumes count once each for logical totals and once per replica for physical, taken from the lookup index, which is already keyed by volume and so needs no set of seen ids. Ec shards are node-local so their sizes sum, while the file and delete counts describe the volume and resolve once every holder has been seen. Replicas of one volume disagree while a write is landing or a heartbeat is late. Walking a full listing took whichever replica the map iteration reached first, so the answer moved between runs; this takes the largest, which is stable and never reports usage below what some replica already holds. * s3: take bucket sizes from the master's summary The bucket size metrics pulled the whole volume list once a minute and added it up, which cost the master 184.6MB of allocation and 17.8MB on the wire for six numbers per collection. VolumeList over 550k volumes 184.6 MB allocated, 17.8 MB on the wire CollectionStatistics 176 bytes allocated, 47 bytes on the wire The aggregation moves to the master with it, so the cases the removed tests covered are now asserted against it directly. * topology: count the replica holding the most live data Quotas are enforced on size less deletions, and the replica with the biggest raw size can be the one that has deleted the most. Counting it reported a bucket smaller than it is and would leave one writable over its quota, which is the opposite of what picking the largest was meant to guarantee. * topology: cap a volume's deletions at what it holds Live usage is read as a collection's size less its deletions, so a volume reporting more deleted bytes than it has cancels live bytes belonging to other volumes in the same bucket and reports it smaller than it is. Replica selection already floored that volume's own live size at zero; the totals have to agree with it. |

s3: enforce bucket quota on logical size and surface read-only state in Admin UI (#10224)
* s3: enforce bucket quota on logical size, not un-vacuumed physical size A bucket full of deleted/overwritten objects awaiting vacuum went read-only while its live data stayed under quota, because enforcement used the raw single-copy volume size with garbage included. Subtract DeletedByteCount via a LogicalSize() helper in the auto-enforce loop, the s3.bucket.quota.enforce command, and the bucket_size_bytes metric (labeled logical but counting garbage too). Deleting objects now relieves quota immediately and enforcement matches the UI usage figure. * admin: surface bucket read-only state in the S3 buckets UI Read the read-only flag quota enforcement writes to filer.conf and show it as a badge in the bucket list and a Status row in the details modal, so an operator can see why writes are being rejected. |

s3: export per-bucket quota and read-only state metrics (#9923)
The quota enforcement loop already computes each bucket's configured
quota and effective read-only flag every minute, but neither was
visible to monitoring, so operators could not alert before a bucket
flips read-only.
Add two gauges next to the existing bucket size metrics:
SeaweedFS_s3_bucket_quota_bytes configured quota; the series is only
present while the quota is enabled,
so size/quota utilization queries
never divide by zero
SeaweedFS_s3_bucket_read_only 1 when the bucket's location rule is
read-only (over quota or manually
locked), 0 otherwise
Both are cleaned up with the other per-bucket gauges on bucket
deletion and inactivity TTL.

s3: auto-enforce bucket quota read-only both ways (#9774)
* s3: auto-enforce bucket quota read-only both ways Quota read-only only ever flipped when an admin re-ran s3.bucket.quota.enforce, so a bucket that went over quota stayed read-only forever even after usage dropped back under. Fold enforcement into the per-minute, leader-locked bucket-size loop the s3 gateway already runs for metrics: it now flips each bucket's read-only flag to match its quota in both directions, rewriting filer.conf only when a flag actually changes. The set/clear decision lives in one shared FilerConf.ApplyBucketQuotaReadOnly helper so the shell command and the gateway can't drift. * only manage read-only when a quota is set, never clobber manual locks * trim comments |

fix(s3/shell): factor EC volumes into bucket size metrics and collection.list (#9182)
* fix(s3/shell): include EC volumes in bucket size metrics and collection.list S3 bucket size metrics exported to Prometheus (and fed through stats.UpdateBucketSizeMetrics) are computed by collectCollectionInfoFromTopology, which only walked diskInfo.VolumeInfos. As soon as a volume was encoded to EC it dropped out of every aggregate, so Grafana showed bucket sizes shrinking while physical disk usage kept climbing. The shell helper collectCollectionInfo — used by collection.list and s3.bucket.quota.enforce — had the same gap, with the EC branch left as a commented-out TODO. Fold EC shards into both paths using the same approach the admin dashboard already uses (PR #9093): - PhysicalSize / Size sum across shard holders: EC shards are node-local (not replicas), so per-node TotalSize() and MinusParityShards().TotalSize() sum to the whole-volume physical and logical sizes respectively. - FileCount is deduped via max across reporters (every shard holder reports the same .ecx count; a slow node with a not-yet-loaded .ecx reports 0 and must not pin the aggregate). - DeleteCount is summed (each delete tombstones exactly one node's .ecj). - VolumeCount increments once per unique EC volume id. Adds regression tests covering pure-EC, mixed regular+EC, and the slow-reporter FileCount dedupe case. Refs #9086 * Address PR review feedback: EC size helpers, composite key, VolumeCount dedupe - Add EcShardsTotalSize / EcShardsDataSize helpers in the erasure_coding package that walk the shard bitmap directly instead of materializing a ShardsInfo and copying it via MinusParityShards(). Keeps the DataShardsCount dependency encapsulated in one place and avoids the per-shard allocation/copy overhead in the metrics hot path. - Switch shell collectCollectionInfo ecVolumes map to a composite {collection, volumeId} key, matching the bucket_size_metrics collector and defending against any cross-collection volume id aliasing. - Dedupe VolumeCount in shell addToCollection by volume id so regular volumes aren't counted once per replica presence. Aligns the shell's collection.list output with the S3 metrics collector and the EC branch, all of which now report logical volume counts. - Add unit tests for the new helpers and for the regular-volume VolumeCount dedupe. * Parameterize EcShardsDataSize with dataShards for custom EC ratios Add a dataShards parameter to EcShardsDataSize so forks with per-volume ratio metadata (e.g. the enterprise data_shards field carried on an extended VolumeEcShardInformationMessage) can pass the configured value and get accurate logical sizes under custom EC policies like 6+3 or 16+6. Passing 0 or a negative value falls back to the upstream DataShardsCount default, which is correct for the fixed 10+4 layout — so OSS callers in s3api and shell pass 0 and keep their current behavior. Added table cases covering the custom 6+3 and 16+6 paths so the parameterization is pinned by tests. |

Make lock_manager.RenewInterval configurable in LiveLock (#7830)
* Make lock_manager.RenewInterval configurable in LiveLock - Add renewInterval field to LiveLock struct - Modify StartLongLivedLock to accept renewInterval parameter - Update all call sites to pass lock_manager.RenewInterval - Default to lock_manager.RenewInterval if zero is passed * S3 metrics: reduce collection interval to half of bucketSizeMetricsInterval Since S3 metrics collection is not critical, check more frequently but only collect when holding the distributed lock. This allows faster detection of any issues while avoiding overhead on non-leader instances. * Remove unused lock_manager import from bucket_size_metrics.go * Refactor: Make lockTTL the primary parameter, derive renewInterval from it Instead of configurable renew interval, lockTTL is now the input parameter. The renewal interval is automatically derived as lockTTL / 2, ensuring that locks are renewed well before expiration. Changes: - Replace renewInterval parameter with lockTTL - Rename LiveLock.renewInterval field to lockTTL - Calculate renewInterval as lockTTL / 2 inside the goroutine - Update all call sites to pass lockTTL values - Simplify sleep logic to use consistent renewInterval for both states This approach is more intuitive and guarantees safe renewal windows. * When locked, renew more aggressively to actively keep the lock When holding the lock, sleep for renewInterval/2 to renew more frequently. When seeking the lock, sleep for renewInterval to retry with normal frequency. This ensures we actively maintain lock ownership while being less aggressive when competing for the lock. * Simplify: use consistent renewInterval for all lock states Since renewInterval is already lockTTL / 2, there's no need to differentiate between locked and unlocked states. Both use the same interval for consistency. * Adjust sleep intervals for different lock states - Locked instances sleep for renewInterval (lockTTL/2) to renew the lock - Unlocked instances sleep for 5*renewInterval (2.5*lockTTL) to retry acquisition less frequently |

feat: add S3 bucket size and object count metrics (#7776)
* feat: add S3 bucket size and object count metrics Adds periodic collection of bucket size metrics: - SeaweedFS_s3_bucket_size_bytes: logical size (deduplicated across replicas) - SeaweedFS_s3_bucket_physical_size_bytes: physical size (including replicas) - SeaweedFS_s3_bucket_object_count: object count (deduplicated) Collection runs every 1 minute via background goroutine that queries filer Statistics RPC for each bucket's collection. Also adds Grafana dashboard panels for: - S3 Bucket Size (logical vs physical) - S3 Bucket Object Count * address PR comments: fix bucket size metrics collection 1. Fix collectCollectionInfoFromMaster to use master VolumeList API - Now properly queries master for topology info - Uses WithMasterClient to get volume list from master - Correctly calculates logical vs physical size based on replication 2. Return error when filerClient is nil to trigger fallback - Changed from 'return nil, nil' to 'return nil, error' - Ensures fallback to filer stats is properly triggered 3. Implement pagination in listBucketNames - Added listBucketPageSize constant (1000) - Uses StartFromFileName for pagination - Continues fetching until fewer entries than limit returned 4. Handle NewReplicaPlacementFromByte error and prevent division by zero - Check error return from NewReplicaPlacementFromByte - Default to 1 copy if error occurs - Add explicit check for copyCount == 0 * simplify bucket size metrics: remove filer fallback, align with quota enforcement - Remove fallback to filer Statistics RPC - Use only master topology for collection info (same as s3.bucket.quota.enforce) - Updated comments to clarify this runs the same collection logic as quota enforcement - Simplified code by removing collectBucketSizeFromFilerStats * use s3a.option.Masters directly instead of querying filer * address PR comments: fix dashboard overlaps and improve metrics collection Grafana dashboard fixes: - Fix overlapping panels 55 and 59 in grafana_seaweedfs.json (moved 59 to y=30) - Fix grid collision in k8s dashboard (moved panel 72 to y=48) - Aggregate bucket metrics with max() by (bucket) for multi-instance S3 gateways Go code improvements: - Add graceful shutdown support via context cancellation - Use ticker instead of time.Sleep for better shutdown responsiveness - Distinguish EOF from actual errors in stream handling * improve bucket size metrics: multi-master failover and proper error handling - Initial delay now respects context cancellation using select with time. After - Use WithOneOfGrpcMasterClients for multi-master failover instead of hardcoding Masters[0] - Properly propagate stream errors instead of just logging them (EOF vs real errors) * improve bucket size metrics: distributed lock and volume ID deduplication - Add distributed lock (LiveLock) so only one S3 instance collects metrics at a time - Add IsLocked() method to LiveLock for checking lock status - Fix deduplication: use volume ID tracking instead of dividing by copyCount - Previous approach gave wrong results if replicas were missing - Now tracks seen volume IDs and counts each volume only once - Physical size still includes all replicas for accurate disk usage reporting * rename lock to s3.leader * simplify: remove StartBucketSizeMetricsCollection wrapper function * fix data race: use atomic operations for LiveLock.isLocked field - Change isLocked from bool to int32 - Use atomic.LoadInt32/StoreInt32 for all reads/writes - Sync shared isLocked field in StartLongLivedLock goroutine * add nil check for topology info to prevent panic * fix bucket metrics: use Ticker for consistent intervals, fix pagination logic - Use time.Ticker instead of time. After for consistent interval execution - Fix pagination: count all entries (not just directories) for proper termination - Update lastFileName for all entries to prevent pagination issues * address PR comments: remove redundant atomic store, propagate context - Remove redundant atomic.StoreInt32 in StartLongLivedLock (AttemptToLock already sets it) - Propagate context through metrics collection for proper cancellation on shutdown - collectAndUpdateBucketSizeMetrics now accepts ctx - collectCollectionInfoFromMaster uses ctx for VolumeList RPC - listBucketNames uses ctx for ListEntries RPC |
